Reading “On the Wind,” an ekphrastic poem written in response to Jeannine Chappell’s “Barn Owl,” at Blue Whole Gallery in Sequim.

I’m a writer and educator living on Quimper Peninsula, the ancestral home of the Chemakum people in Washington State. Published work includes book reviews, business texts, columns and interviews. My poetry appears in Port Angeles Fine Arts Center’s Webster Woods Sculpture Park, The Madrona Project No. 7 anthology This Machine is Made for Earth, Inspired by Art and my chapbook, Wintering. I frequently write book reviews for Raven Chronicles, with a focus on poetry of place/presence. I’ve participated in readings at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, The Blue Whole Gallery and Pacific Mist Books, where my chapbook is available for sale. I was a featured reader at Marmo Cafe & Gallery in November, in association with my Hypathia-in-the-Woods residency.

A Kellogg Marketing & Finance MBA, business was my first language. I’ve developed copy for and directed the production of a range of digital and print materials, including annual reports, briefings, conference presentations and website content. I’ve collaborated on the development of five digital business titles: writing 15 of 17 chapters for Lumen Learning’s Human Resource Management online course and serving as contributing author/editor for their Business Communications for Managers, Introduction to Business, Principles of Management and Retail Management courses. Brand strategy work includes developing a personal branding methodology in collaboration with Paul Copcott of Square Peg.

I’m an adjunct Business Instructor at Mendocino College in California; my core courses include Introduction to Business, Introduction to Marketing and Human Resource Management.
